ImageDougie Higson passed away Sunday, 19th August 2007 aged 50 at home and quietly in his sleep, surviving him are his wife Sue and sons Stuart and Dean.

The funeral service will be held at Overdale Crematorium, Bolton on Friday 24th August at 1500hrs. At Dougies request dress casual if you like, he didnt want his funeral to be full of sombre and darkly dressed people.

Dougie is to be buried in his favourite jeans and England shirt.

Family Flowers only donations to Marie Curie Nurses or Bolton hospice.

Dougie was a great guy to have around he loved "the crack" and the number of stories and memories he has given us are immense

The Grappling Grunt
The Family Weekends
Dougies Big One(s)
I.O.M. Area 8 AGM and the Chuckle Sticks

These are but a few of the great stories to be told from Table, but Dougie was a true mate as well, and there lie even more memories and great stories.

Dougie wasn't a very tall bloke and when he got up to speak at Table you would hear "Stand up Dougie", but we remember Dougie as a big man who did "Stand up"

He stood up for his Family
He stood up for his Friends
He stood up for his Table
He stood up to life and faced everything it sent his way with Bravery, Kindness, Humility, Love and Humour

But no need to stand up any more its the quiet rest for you our Friend
We will always remember our Dougie
A real Stand up Kind of Guy
