Past Area 8 Chairmans Dinner was held on 24th February at Woolton golf club. The evening was organised by Nic Corke in true white rabbit style with invites being sent out numerous times.
There were twelve past Area 8 Chairmen in attendance accompanied by their partners(except Kilsh) and the currant Area Chairman Peter and his wife Michelle who were the guests of honour. The evening was chaired by Geoffrey Hurst 1962/1963 in his usual prescriptive style. Peter Holden gave his report on the state of Area 8, the highs and lows of his year of office and the state of National. Past Chairmen were then invited to say a few words limited to one minute. The evening was a great success(surprisingly) and special thanks to Nic on behalf of the Past Area 8 Chairmen The date of next years Past Area Chairmans Dinner is 5th April at Haydock Thistle hotel John Kilshaw |
